Here at Koblenz CLIL Academy, research is an important pillar to our CLIL Certificate! The field of CLIL teaching offers multiple opportunities to look deeper into the processes behind language and content teaching and learning!
Currently, we are looking at linguistic requirements teaching of and in a foreign language imposes on students at the ages of 12-13 and 15-16! According to a study by the European Center of Modern Languages, there is no significant difference in the demands selected subjects impose on migrant students of the above mentioned age groups when being taught in a language other than their L1.
This is a statement we had to test, as parallels between the study and our target group were obvious!
And you and your class could be part of our research! Not only would you help us to further refine our certificate program but also to design an innovative curriculum for future CLIL-teaching! Benefit from the study results by testing your students' language skills through standardized test procedures and receive the results in correspondence to the Common European Framework of Reference!
